Wash the wok with hot water and mild soap
Scrub off any factory coating or residue
Dry the wok completely over heat
Heat the wok until it changes color slightly
Add a thin layer of high smoke point oil
Spread the oil across the entire surface with a paper towel
Heat the wok until the oil begins to smoke
Reduce heat and wipe away excess oil
Repeat the oiling and heating process 2–3 times
Let the wok cool completely
Rinse lightly with hot water after cooking
Dry immediately after washing
Apply a very thin coat of oil before storing
